I work in the film Industry and practiced The Secret when I was quite young, mostly without even realizing I was doing it. I’d like to say it worked. I was a dreamer, always called the eternal optimist, all I ever thought about and pictured was to become a Stunt Coordinator and Action Director. I wished to have all the toys a stunt man has, boats, cars, jet skis, travel, a big house, with a pool and an office, a holiday house an apartment, the lot!

Jump 30 years and I have had and done all of those things and more. I even had colleagues of mine state that they loved the fact that I lived The Secret lifestyle.

I think once I got all the things I wanted, I stopped thinking that way and believing. With a failing marriage, a great deal of negativity attached to my choices, and listening to continued criticism, it all stopped! The money stopped, the work began to dry up, and I was beginning to become very negative.

Then I got bowel cancer and decided there and then that it would not beat me! I did everything I could from known and accepted medicines to naturopathic and progressive practices, all the while believing that I would beat it. Jump to my final surgery. Post-op, my surgeon entered the room stating, “There was nothing but scar tissue.” I was totally cancer-free! I was on top again.

After being released from the hospital, I got a job as a safety consultant on a US production coming to town. I could only do the report for them as I was still recovering from my surgery.

Then Covid hit the world. I was called into the producer’s office and asked if we needed to shut down. My response was that I had been in self-quarantine for long enough and had no interest in returning. So I said let’s give it a go!
From that moment I began writing a Covid safety plan for the motion picture industry. As we continued to move forward, the entire world shut down around us. We continued to write the report and continued to believe. We kept filming while every other production on earth shut down, literally losing billions of dollars worldwide. We were doing what no one else could do.

We were closely scrutinized, not only by the Australian Government but by the world’s major motion picture houses and organizations. After 30 days of filming during 30 days of a worldwide shutdown, we were handed a ‘cease and desist’ order by the Australian Government filming representative bodies as well as major unions in the USA. Unless we handed over my documents and proved our safety procedures were sound, we were assured this would be in confidence. With that assurance, we handed over the information.

We had Zoom interviews with major streaming services across the world wanting to know our secrets and wanting for us to come on board. I had written a book about life in the film industry called ‘Safety On Set’ and was about to have it published. I had written a screenplay treatment for an action feature film, was blogging regularly, and was being offered speaking engagements across America. The producers of the film asked me to join and create a company so we could move forward and continue our success.

I actually remember thinking, wow! This is too much, I can’t do this! And that was that. Within 10 days the worldwide film industry had re-opened and somehow, they figured out how to do it without us. Both Australia and the US denied ever using our documentation. All major production houses and streaming services stopped their correspondence.

With an ileostomy bag attached to me for far too long, due to the Covid breakout shutting down non-essential surgery, I spiraled down again. I wasn’t enjoying work. I was resentful, and bills began to mount up. We had insurance issues, we sold almost all the toys, and now the marriage is collapsing. The book was never published, the film treatment never moved forward, and needless to say, the US tour didn’t happen either. My recent jobs had been difficult and filled with trouble, and my home life wasn’t going well. It seemed like no matter what I did, it wasn’t working. The last 2 years had been pretty difficult no matter what I tried.

I finished a job only a few months ago, feeling resentful, angry, and blaming everyone for my troubles. Then work stopped, literally stopped. I blamed, the jobs, the strikes, and had forgotten to be positive.

Only a few days ago I began to think about where I am and what had happened. I realized it was me. So I changed my attitude straight away. And right away the insurance issues were solved. I have had interest in the book again, work started to come back in, and I got more positive about money.

I looked back to my past and tried to figure out what I used to do and something reminded me of The Secret. So I downloaded the Audiobook.

I have now listened to The Secret 3 times in a row and things have already begun to change.

I was sitting by the water listening to an audiobook, visualizing sitting in a house by the water. At that time I received an email from my wife saying we needed to move out so the insurers could repair everything we wished for. The house that the insurance company offered to us just happens to be on the waterfront with a pool and a jetty, it’s absolutely beautiful! Within ten minutes of that, it was also confirmed that I had secured a job of a lifetime. One that offered a fantastic wage, worldwide travel, and a long-term contract.

So, I thought I’d try a few more little things.

My ankles have been giving me trouble for a year now, so I changed my thought process. My ankles haven’t hurt for two days now.

We needed packing boxes for the repairs so I asked for them. Within hours I had been offered more than I needed. I was listening to the chapter in the book that had the staff member winning a ‘The Secret’ DVD. So right there and then I said out loud, “I want to watch The Secret.

Step back 2 days ago. For some reason that I cannot explain, I had subscribed to a streaming service I didn’t even want or remember getting. I contacted them to disconnect it today and because the month had already begun, I have the subscription in play for a month. I opened the service to check out what they offered, and yes, there it was on the front page. Thank you, I am sure I will enjoy watching The Secret!

I have downloaded The Secret Checks and posted them around my home and office. I have also updated my screensaver, which is my wish list, and it works. Almost everything on my screen saver from the past I have enjoyed and experienced in some way or another. I am now updating it and making the items more specific.

I also once printed out a map of Europe and marked out a route. Within a year I had received a job that literally took me around most of the circuit. My wife and I completed the rest of the circuit on a self-drive holiday immediately following the job.

The Secret works. I truly believe it. I now know my book will be published, my film will be produced, and my check will be paid. I am back on board and will keep you posted. I had to share my story and thank you for reminding me.
