I’ve always been an upbeat person and loved the finer things in life. However, after a great young adult life of partying, great friends, and a career of my dreams, things took a turn for the worst when I turned 30. I lost my job, got evicted from my home and became homeless. I was too prideful to ask my family for help and turned to a life of petty theft to make ends meet. I got a arrested a few times and the last time I was pretty much guaranteed by the judge to spend a long imprisonment in jail.

I read The Secret while in jail and utilized it’s principles. I constantly spoke my affirmations and prayed every day. I also continually to thank God and the Universe for it’s blessings for even the smallest conveniences. Soon after I got a inmate health assessment and found out that I had high blood pressure and got treatment for a illness I had no awareness of. Not much after that I got transferred to a better, more modern facility. After three months I got my own personal cell too.

While there I realized I met some cool guys and learned lessons about life from other spiritually minded inmates. I was blessed to then get attorneys on my case that were very helpful in getting me into programs that provided me with free commissary and case management assistance.

Nothing else happened for a while after that but I was patient and stuck to my routine of gratitude, manifesting my desires, and affirmations. Three 3 months later I was scheduled for court. The jail transport took me to the wrong courthouse and thankfully I missed my court date with a judge that was known for being harsh. Because I missed my court hearing at the fault of the state, my lawyer was able to argue with the DA that I deserved a bond after 7 months of incarceration. Surprisingly I was released a few days later on Valentine’s day, which is the day I dreamed of being released by for weeks! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

When I got out my mom picked me up and we talked and repaired our relationship and I apologized for my pride. Ironically, that same month one of the tenants of a rental property she owned moved out and she offered me a place to live rent free while I got on my feet!!! To add the cherry on top of it all, my elderly neighbor could no longer drive in her advanced age and offered to give me her car, which was well maintained, for very cheap. She priced it for me at thousands of dollars under it’s value. To my surprise I had a check from a tax refund for the exact amount needed to buy the vehicle waiting for me from the IRS. Then another check from a class action lawsuit from the property management company that had evicted me years prior. It appeared they handled the eviction illegally and had to pay reparations.

The next morning my attorney called to tell me my case in the county had been dismissed! This all happened in 24 hours of release. Wow! The Universe took a while but it really delivered. I now have a home and car and money within 24 hours of getting out of jail. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I am a true believer in The Secret and encourage everyone to trust the process and pray and express gratitude for even the smallest of things. It works, believe me! Now I’m looking forward to going back to finding a job and making new friends and moving forward in my life on a new and better path. I’m so thankful for the opportunity for a second chance at a happier, more fulfilling life. Ask for what you want and the Universe will deliver. Just be patient!
